The article I'm going to talk about is called Suspect in Boston bombing could face death penalty, and within this article it talks about how Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is charged with one count of using and conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction and one count of malicious destruction of property using an explosive device resulting in death. These charges against him have a maximum death penalty.
While reading this article it is hard to believe that all this was done by two teenagers, how could someone want to hurt so many people. I felt that I could relate this to the penalties that the people that committed a crime had to endure in the time of the French Revolution. During this time the guillotine was used as the device to kill people who committed different crimes. From my view of this period no one really got a far say in weather they committed the crime or if someone else really did it. So in a way they know they were going to die weather they did the crime or not.
Going back to the suspect of the Boston bombing, they are not sure how he is going to be charged due to the fact that he is a legal citizen and is critical condition. The government feels that he should have a fair trial and not be tried as a terrorist. I feel that they need to find out more information surrounding why this happened and after that figure out if this teen is part of something bigger or not.
So what do you think does the Government have enough information in order to send this teen to prison with no chance of parole and to serve the death penalty or do you feel that they need to figure out why this happened?
